Maintenance Staff-Cameo House

The Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to reducing society’s dependence on incarceration as a solution to social problems. We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred
  • Skilled in electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact with staff and vendors
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, and can be adaptable and flexible

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities within the facility
  • Provide excellent service while addressing maintenance issues
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
  • Keep the facility secure by monitoring the building and any suspicious activity immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities such as copying, filing, and using
    the telephone
  • Able to lift and move u to 25 lbs occasionally

Compensation

CJCJ offers a competitive hourly rate, a generous benefits package, a casual work environment, and a great team of committed professionals. This full-time hourly position reports directly to the Cameo House Program Director. Pay scale ranges from $22.00 — $24.00 per hour, based upon experience.
