Residential Support Staff

CJCJ’s Cameo House offers an alternative sentencing program that delivers gender-responsive and trauma-informed services to pregnant, parenting, and single system-impacted homeless women in a residential setting. Learn more about Cameo House by reviewing the program webpage.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner and maintain client and program records in accordance with standards set forth by the agency and program
  • Comply with Child Abuse Reporting Laws, HIPPA compliance and other Mandated Reporting responsibilities
  • Help create, facilitate, attend child/​family appropriate functions
  • Oversee resident taking medication, administer breathalyzer and drug screen tests to residents as needed
  • Participate in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in areas related to the focus of the residential program
  • Attend meetings and meet regularly with the Program Director and peers to exchange pertinent information and to receive supervision and training
  • Document shift details in the required log book, email shift report to Program Director, Operations Director, and Program Manager, review and maintain resident sign in/​out log
  • Oversee resident taking medication, administer breathalyzer and drug screen tests to residents as needed
  • Interact with residents, visitors, and agency representatives in a confidential, therapeutic, and responsible manner ensuring you are maintaining a high level of ethical conduct
  • Ensure children are always appropriately supervised by parents or other responsible adults
  • Execute duties related to the effective and therapeutic management of the facility, encompassing all activities and outings. This involves employing safety management, emergency protocols, de-escalation, and conflict resolution responsibly and professionally. Promptly inform the Program Director of any emergencies and ensure an incident report is completed and submitted before the end of the shift.
  • Perform various cleaning duties such as regular cleaning of the 1st floor offices, restrooms, hallways, and conference room (1st Floor Kitchen)
  • Ensure all resident program rules are followed, resident rooms, bathrooms, daily assigned chores, are inspection ready
  • Keep the facility secure by monitoring the building and any suspicious activity immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of experience providing counseling, and supportive services to women or high-risk populations.
  • Course work in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field a plus.
  • Familiarity with the criminal justice system, recovery programs, or residential programs.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction, strength-based, gender-specific, and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, and can be adaptable and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humor.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities such as copying, filing, and using the telephone
  • Able to lift and move u to 25 lbs occasionally

Compensation

CJCJ offers a competitive hourly rate, a generous benefits package, a casual work environment, and a great team of committed professionals. This full-time hourly position reports directly to the Cameo House Program Director. Pay scale ranges from $20 — $22.50 per hour, based upon experience.
