CJCJ’s Maureen Washburn discusses several pieces of important juvenile justice reform legislation that will decrease the negative impacts of justice-involvement on youth.

CJCJ co-sponsors youth justice reform legislation, youth clients take a deserved break from their demanding lives, and California sees a promising start to county juvenile facility reform. 

CJCJ is co-sponoring two bills in the California legislature this year that would lessen the impact of the juvenile justice system on youth and their families. 

CJCJ’s executive director, Daniel Macallair, testified before the California Legislature on the need for increased uniformity in county implementation of sentencing laws to reduce mass incarceration.
